With growing numbers of vehicle accidents we will be hosting an additional Vehicle Extrication Training Saturday, March 10th, 9am – 12.
As a member, if you were not able to attend last September we implore you join us on Saturday to brush up on the skills and tools required for fast and safe extrication.
This training will be put on by none other than our own Brian Marak with ICFD!

She is an EMT-B and works in Des Moines at Unity Point Health as a Respiratory Therapist-Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist/Adult Critical Care Specialist
Yes that’s right she lives in Des Moines and in her free times makes trips back to our district to be available to respond to calls.

The Jefferson-Monroe Fire Department would like to invite you and your family for a fun and educational afternoon learning about fire safety, watching animated videos, and interacting with our very own firefighters and EMT’s!

We are glad to have the upgrades done on 141 and to have it back home. We drove 141 from Alexis, IL to the station only to be paged out to backup Station 1 in Iowa City for their City Carton fire. So 141 drove 2 hours to never make it home until 10:30pm that night. Even when we are “out of service,” we are always still working!
The image above is of the Lucas device we own that allows us to maintain proper CPR for longer durations until transport. This device frees up hands, reduces fatigue and man power requirements and helps ensure High Quality CPR is administered for a greater survival outcome.
